Come join in the festivities at this year’s Earth Day celebration on Sunday, April 22! Bring the whole family to celebrate and learn about our local environment. Attendees can visit the booths of local organizations and vendors who will provide information about green products, services, and how to get involved locally to make a difference for the Earth.
Great information will be available on a host of topics including alternative energy, supporting local agriculture, watershed health, pollution prevention, local stewardship opportunities, and much more. Lots of hands-on educational activities, crafts, games, great local bands, and amazing dancers will keep the whole family entertained.
You’ll also have the chance to connect with nature at Connolly Ranch’s Community Corner! Come meet their farm animals, enjoy nature crafts, and garden activities. Get your body moving doing yoga and aerial silks with Wine Country Aerials and Yoga NV.
And to top it all off, BottleRock Napa Valley is generously providing an unbeatable lineup of musical acts. We will have something for everyone, so be sure to come join the fun beside the Napa River from 11am to 4pm!
In addition to the live music, great activities, and exhibitors, come enjoy some delicious local food, beer, and wine! Proceeds from beverage sales at Earth Day fund the Field Trip Bus Grant program run by the Environmental Education Coalition of Napa County (EECNC), the event host. EECNC funds field trips for Napa County students to visit sites such as Bothe State Park, Carolyn Parr Nature Center, Lake Hennessey, and Connolly Ranch where they can gain an appreciation of the local environment. Proceeds from beverage sales also support the Darcy Aston Environmental Advocacy Scholarship, which is awarded to a local high school student that is planning to pursue a career in the environmental sciences.
We encourage attendees to help us celebrate the Earth by riding a bike to the event where the Napa County Bicycle Coalition will offer free valet bike parking! To help us achieve our goal of being a zero waste event, attendees are also encouraged to bring their own water bottle and stop by our “Water Bar” filling station.
Do you want to lend a hand for the local environment before you come out to the festival? Well, we have the perfect opportunity for you! Throw on some gloves, grab a bucket, and join the Napa County Resource Conservation District at several sites throughout downtown Napa and beyond to pick up litter from our creeks and river. The cleanup runs from 9am to 11am. Visit naparcd.org for more information.
